Wow this has been a super crazy week for real! I don’t have enough time, nor do you have the attention span for me to write down all the details. But let’s hop right into it!
Leaving Long Beach was actually super sad. I remember going to my knees in prayer asking God why he was taking me away from an area, companion, and friends that I loved so much. By the time the night before transfers came, I was overwhelmed with a sense of peace knowing that I was needed somewhere else for the time being.
We got to say goodbye to some of my favorite people I have met on my mission. I got to say bye to Jayion, Jessica, Chantra, John and Erin, Kristi, Angelina and Josh, and finally the Manukailea family who took us to In-n-Out for a final dinner. I wish I had weeks to say bye to more people. However, I was extremely blessed with so many goodbye texts and gifts as I was leaving LB. It was hard not to get emotional based on how kind and genuine all of the people were. I will miss Long Beach. Take care E-iggy Tiggy!
Arriving at the mission office for transfers is always fun to be able to see all of my mission friends who are still left in the mission. My new companion is Elder Stuard from just south of Seattle Washington! He is a beast! We came out on the mission together and we have had a good time so far. He has always been an Elder I’ve wanted to serve with and now we are comps so that’s been way fire.
I have enjoyed Anahiem for the time I’ve been here! We do in fact have Disneyland in our ward boundaries which is wild. Honestly this is a good area! However the work apparently has been a lil slow last transfer. However it seems to be picking up fast as ElderStuard and I have already found 9 people to teach in just 3 days which is pretty good!
A cool miracle has already happened. When we were driving in the car I decided to spam text a bunch of grey dots ( aka people who are not being taught anymore/ not interested/ unable to contact / etc) We got a response really fast from a dude named Arshad. We could tell he spoke very broken English but he said he would pull up to church. We lowkey forgot about him. During sacrament he texted and said ” Good morning I am here”. We were shocked! We could not see him nor did we know what he looked like. At the end of sacrament a member waved us over and said, “This guy just came and sat next to me and said he was texting you.” It was Arshad!! It was really good to meet him and he seems dope. He is from Pakistan and we hope to meet him this week. So, we will see how it goes!
To end the week we had a fire member meal with a family named Ericksons. THEY ARE SO FIRE!!! They live right across the street from Disney and are the biggest Disneyland fans of all time. Sister Erickson knows every fact about Disneyland and the history behind all of the rides and everything! We talked the entire time about tips and tricks of Disneyland! Fire times!!!
This week I was blessed with the chance to be able to speak in sacrament about Easter and The Living Christ. Even though I had studied the resurrection before, the additional study really helped me understand the resurrection better. I learned so much about it. In my talk I shared how much I love the Savior and I am so grateful that he broke the bands of death so that we can also break the band of death when we die.
I love you all so much!!
