How Can I Snooze & Miss The Moment?-Feb. 27, 2025

I know it’s been a bit since you heard from me. That’s because our P-Day got moved to Thursday this week due to the zone temple trip today! However, we already went to the temple this transfer so we are not going today. We also had to move our p-day to Thursday to follow the trend, I guess lol. Idk. However, this last  week and a half was really good! To save us all some time I’ll just give some highlights from the past lil bit!  

 

– Last Pday we had all day pday cause of a service project in the morning and so for our activity we went to a pizza place with a bunch of the Eldas and it was so fun!

 

– Got lunch with busta crew (Elder Evans) for the last time…  Sure gonna miss that elda!

 

– Had a good exhchange with Elder Jarman covering 2 areas! I love Compton!

 

– One of our recent converts has been going through some hard times. We haven’t been able to contact him for a hot minute. He called us and said that he had no money and was hungry. We instantly wanted to help him. We went and bought him some dinner. Seeing him in that condition was such a humbling experience for me. .

 

– We had a couple REALLY long days. haha. We have had so many lessons fall through that its been insane. Like, we cannot hold on to a friend to save our life rn. Pray for us por favor. 

 

– We had a ward party for our new Stake President, which was super fun. Bill came and brought his member girlfriend from the Orange stake! 

 

– Ate absolute garbage for a straight week! For my whole mission I have been on some sort of diet, which has been great, but for like a week straight we either had a member meal, a member lunch, or we had to go out to eat or else we had no lunch. Let me tell you, my body was not feeling good at all!!! Feel like I gained 5 lbs fr. 

 

– Wow… What a change. We have found 16 people in the last 1.5 weeks lol. Lord is providing fr. 

 

– Had a “Fire” exchange with Elder Simms! Got to be in the Spanish area and he is a TALKER!! We chatted all day and it was a good time. 

 

– Bill came to church let’s shout out!

 

– Did a fast for our friend Mark to help him know the church was true… still waiting on the results

 

– Had a cool spirit tract! We had to drive out to the Mission office, which is like 40 minutes away. Driving there and back is brutal in Socal traffic. We got to see some homies there tho so that was cool fs. Anyway, when we got back, I was COOKED!! I was so dead. However, we said a prayer asking for strength and I instantly felt better. We did a visit. On the way back we passed a door and I felt a small prompting to knock. We knocked and the lady has been looking for a church to go to and she seemed really interested!! So hopefully she comes to church on Sunday! Keep Monica in your prayers!

 

– The title of this email is a lyric from one of my favorite songs back home by my girl SZA. We were talking to these wild dudes in the projects when this guy in the distance started blasting a SZA song that must be new cause I haven’t heard it before. Then, I thought, “I hope he plays Snooze…” THE NEXT SONG WAS SNOOZE!! I was hyped, but locked in for the lesson mode….. 

 

However, that song was stuck in my head for a while and then the lyrics really hit me hard! ” How can I snooze and miss the moment?” And, then I was like “Woah, I gotta live in the moment!!!” It was wild. Just thinking about how fast time is going by is unreal.

 

This week in my personal studies I have really fallen in love with the prophet Jacob form the Book of Mormon and his teachings. One scripture I’d like to share is Jacob 4:10. Wherefore, brethren, seek not to counsel the Lord, but to take counsel from his hand. For behold, ye yourselves know that he counseleth  in wisdom, and in justice, and in great mercy, over all his works.”

 

I know for me I get into the habit of giving council to the Lord and expecting him to cook with the things that I have in store. When in reality it’s the other way around. I am happy that Jacob was able to help me out with that. Shout out Jake fr.

 

 I just want to point out that God has greater plans than you do! If we take heed from his council, we will be blessed beyond comprehension!
