Fly Eagles flyyyyy! This week was crazy and lowkey. I am not in the mood to type it all out haha so, Imma just go off my memory what the highlights were!
–Lowkey had a good MLC! Although it was very long, I could actually feel the spirit help me know what I need to be better. Also, I got to see some of my favorite people here in the mission!
– Had a great dinner with the Manuma family! I love them sm. Charllie is this lil 2 year old and she is obsessed with the missionaries. Pic below.
– We had district council which was solid. I miss zone council tho fr. Had some solid lessons after too.
– Highlight of the week was DJ Bill Lovelace for sure. So, if you read last week, Bill pulled up to church and bore his testimony. It was his first ever time at our church. He is elect. We went by his home for the first time to “do some service.” He said he needed help cleaning and then we could share a message after. This dude has the worst ADHD ever. We didn’t do a single second of service. He wanted to show us his DJ stuff from his 40 years of being a DJ. He then blasted a couple songs, and then paused it and said, ” Alright, your turn… what do I have to do to get baptized?” AND HE WAS SO FOR REAL! We were dying laughing because it was so crazy. He came to church again and we hope to put him on date this week! Amazing!
– I had an exchange with Elder Jarman. He is cool! We don’t have a ton in common but he is dang funny, actually.
– While on exchanges we picked up the Catalina Island Elders and had a sleepover! We got pizzas and snacks and played some bored games it was super fun!
– We had interviews with the President and holy, I love that man so much. He helps me EVERYTIME!! We talked about some cool stuff and he is really good at assuring me that I am a good missionary lol. That helps alot. I seem to focus on my weakness.
– TEMPLE TIME! We got to go with the Catalina Island Elders down to the Newport beach temple for an endowment session. I love the temple. This could’ve been my favorite temple trip yet!
– It’s been raining a lot here which is nice for the fires which I think are put out now?? Tbh no idea. But I have lots of holes in my shoes so my feet get soaked.
– We had a friend named John invite us over to his house for dinner. We originally just had a lesson set up with him but he turned it into a dinner lol. We asked if we could bring a member and we did. It was SO FREAKING FUN! Bro Jamerson is a legend.
– Had a lil day exchange with Elder Mitchell. He is a goofy guy. We taught some good lessons and got to know each other pretty good.
– I hit my 5 months left mark!! yeash.
– My lower back has been dying recently so I’ve been “Cooked” in all of our lunch and dinner hours, icing my back and stretching lol. Idk what happened.
– Tbh cant think of anything else.
Well sorry for the semi- lame email this week! I really am just so tired that I can’t think! But, I am doing really good. I love the Mission and I love the work. It’s really been hitting me how time is going so fast. It’s crazy that it’s already this far into the year. It feels like yesterday I made my New Years goals. Gosh dang.
This week I have focused my studies on the Christlike Attributes. I love this chapter in PMG. This week I really liked the attribute of patience. It hit me hard especially with the way I think about time. It made me realize that I need to be more patient with how everything is going and how I need to live in the moment! I love Mosiah 24:15 which says, ” … and they did submit cheerfully, and with PATIENCE to all the will of the Lord.” The context is when the people of Alma are in bondage and they are asking to be freed from their horrible situation. I love how no matter their circumstance they were patient with the will of the Lord.
I love you all so much! Have a good week! Email me if you gotta second!
