Another day, another week, another email. LET’S GET IT!
Monday: Lowkey Fire Day. haha. I haven’t played ball in a long time, and for our Pday activity, we all pulled up to the church and hooped for a while. It felt good to play ball again, and I had a good time. However, Monday was the day that I started to get SICK! Oh my gosh, I hate getting sick. However, we had a good night of work and a good lesson with Jessica! She gave us a Christmas gift and it was so nice of her. I wasn’t able to eat it cause I’m still on my “No Candy Grind but I’m very thankful for her.
Tuesday: Christmas Eve! Honestly, I didn’t feel like it was Christmas Eve. We had a good day of planning and then went out to work. I was dying, though, because I felt so sick. However we still had a good day. We had a good lesson with Hasii. After that, we didn’t find a ton of success, which was fine. I talked to the Fam for 30 minutes, and then I got to talk to Josh, which was a blast. It was nice to chat with him and hear what was up with the rest of the Kinghorn clan.
The Clarks had us over for dinner, and it was so fun. They do a Christmas Eve tradition of Breakfast for dinner, and so we had some pancakes and hot cocoa. It was fire. We went over to Jessica’s to end the night with a lesson.
Wednesday: Merry Christmas!!! I woke up sicker than a bug, but I pulled through. We had district council in the morning, and then Bishop Makukalea had us over for lunch! If you know Samoans, it was a huge get-together. They love the Elders so much. So we had some great food, and man, I loved it. Got to then call family, which was a blast and wow!! I love them so much!!!
Afterward, we took a little rest block cause I was dying. After a while, we went caroling with the district! We all hit up some of our friends/recent converts and sang some carols, and it was so good to help our friends have a good Christmas. ALSO! I finished the BOM on Christmas morning, which was so cool! The last time I finished the BOM, it was Easter morning! It was a crazy cool miracle, in my opinion.
Thursday: Back to the grind, and I was still super sick. lol. We don’t stop out here lol. We did some parking lot finding, and due to my being sick, I barely had a voice, so Elder Capps did all of the talking. After about 20 minutes of straight, I said, “No more”. I wanted to talk to at least one person. As we started to leave, I said hello to one person who was very nice. They let me share a scripture. The lady has been looking for a church, so hopefully, she pulls through! We had lessons with Chantra, THE ACTUAL GOAT, and Jessica to end the day!
Friday: Legit best lesson with Hasii ever! We were gonna talk about the ten commandments or something, and then she brough up temples. We taught her about them and our member CLUTCHED UP and was spitting fire! Hasii was like: “I want to go to the temple so bad!” The member offered to take her to the LA temple and walk the grounds and Hasii was so hyped. She ended up canceling, but it was still super cool.
We then had some lessons with some really cool people that we hope to start progressing with soon! This area is filled with the elect! To end the night, you know we had to hit up Angels. Cmon now! I got the Nachos this time, bro…. They were so fire!
Saturday: At 2:30 in the morning, we were woken up by the sound of the fire alarm going off in our whole complex! We got our stuff and ran out the door. We were low-key tripping cause no one else in the whole complex was leaving. We made it outside, along with other Elders and a few other people. We waited while the alarms were going crazy! The cops were nowhere in sight, and we all were like, What in the world is going on? After about 10 minutes, the alarms shut off, and then a firetruck came casually down the road. A fireman gets out and says, “False alarm, you can go back to bed.” We were all like bruhhh. But, we went back to bed.
Now, I have a funny story to tell. I was on exchanges with the Spanish Elders, and I was with Elder Simms! He is a DAWG! I love him, and he is going through a lot rn. So, we had a good chat, and hopefully things go well with him.
Although I don’t speak Spanish, we had a fun day filled with lessons. The highlight of the day was when my boy, Elder JR TURLEY called!! Got to help him get an address for a Spanish ward in LA for one of his Amigos. It was so good to talk to him for a little bit! Love you JR!
Sunday: Good day! At church, I got asked to speak, and so I gave a lil talk about “Charity” and “Love” and whatnot. It was Okay. If you want to hear it I recorded it, so hit me back if you wanna listen to it.
We had a chill day of visits and doing some finding, but nothing much came of it. We were expecting lots of friends at church this week, but honestly, no one showed up except Jessica and Kristi. So happy for that, though.
I cannot believe 2024 is over! This has been the longest, hardest, most exhausting, emotional, best, happiest, fun year of my life! Yeah, it doesn’t make sense, I know. Missions are so crazy! You are always tired and working and busy, but somehow you reflect, and there’s just no greater feeling! I met some amazing people on 2024, and I would like to thank everyone who helped me this last year. I love you all so much. I cannot wait for 2025 as it will be full of crazy changes and new experiences!
Next week, I’ll hit y’all up with my 2o25 goals, and y’all can keep me accountable, for sure. I love you all so much. Have a great week and a happy New Year. Hit me up!!!
