Woaaaaaa, I cannot believe I’m about to start my 12 transfer in the mission! (Hints season 12 in the title) This was honestly a pretty fast transfer, and it definitely tested my patience. We got the transfer news. However, you’ll have to read more to find out what’s happening!!

Monday: It was a pretty mild P-day. We had the normal stuff in the morning and had our Pday activity at the church. We played some floor hockey, and man, it was tiring, tbh. It was fun but also pretty eh at the same time. I spent pretty much all day working on my BYU essays online with my dad. However, we ended the night with a cool miracle! We got a call from an inactive member in a care facility, and he wanted us to come and visit him. We went by, and he wanted to read a chapter in the BOM with us. He decided to invite his friend to join us! We then had a good lesson with his friend, and she is pretty interested! So that was fire!

Tuesday:  We had a real good lesson with our friend Joshua. He is cool, but he also sucks haha. He grew up Christian and has had COUNTLESS amazing experiences with the church. He loves the Book of Mormon, he never felt the spirit stronger than at a baptism he attended, and he believes pretty much everything we teach. BUT HE IS JOINING THE CATHOLIC CHURCH!!! We have no idea why. He says it’s because he has a place to serve, so we told him about callings in the LDS Church and everything. Anyway, during the lesson, he stopped us and said, “Look, guys, I love and respect you, but I’m not joining the  LDS church; I’m catholic.” And, If you have heard the Bill Carpenter conversion story, you know what I’m about to say.  I said, “Joshua, we have fractured your testimony of the Catholic church so hard that you only said that to reaffirm your position”. And the spirit went crazzzzzy! We had a good conversation and just said to keep praying about it.  It was lit lol. We ended the night going to Navarros with a bunch of Elders! It was a good time.

Wednesday: Valid day. We had a good lesson with Tina and that’s always good. No update on her, tbh. We had a good church tour with our friend Jose. He is a dawg! Our ward mission leader and a ward missionary took us out to In-N-Out, and that was fun! However, I’m getting a little tired of that place, haha. We ended the day at the youth activity, which was doing some service at the church building.

Thursday: It was an absolutely wild day. We had our first and last combined district council, lol. It was so mid. We hit up target for a couple things, and I got to use my 3 trash years of ASL to talk to a lady at the store! It’s so cool how many times I’ve been able to use my little ASL skills to help people!

We had a church tour with Jackie.  She is so cool and asked some awesome questions, and I lobbed answers to her.  But yeah, she is dope. Right after that, we had a church tour with Armando. He was also super chill, and they both have tons of potential. Went over to Joshua’s home and had a solid lesson. And then we had dinner with the Staleys.  Wow, I love that family so much. They are amazing. To end the night, we got a call from President Galotera asking me to be a zone leader again, haha. So yeah, that should be an adventure.

Friday: It was such a slow day compared to the day before. We had a slow morning. I had a meeting for the new assignment. We came back to our area and had a solid lesson with Domingo. Afterward, we didn’t do too much tbh.
Just a pretty chill night. But we were given a gift card to go to In-n-Out, so we pulled up with the zone leaders and had some In-n-Out.

Saturday: It was a “Wack” day as well. We had a half-day exchange with the DL, Elder Parker. He is, well…interesting. Not someone I’d hang out with too much, but it was fun. We were kinda busy doing errands and studying for our part of the exchange, so that was mid.

We then had our ward Christmas party, which was so much fun!! We had SOOOO many of our friends show up to the party; it was llt! The ward was shocked to see so many new faces, and it was so fun to see them all in the same place.

Sunday: Because of the ZL call, I knew this would be my last Sunday in the area. It was sad seeing some of these members for the last time because you get really attached to them.

We had a great lesson with Jackie, and “Wow”, she is so so cool. She was so sad to hear that I am getting moved, and that just makes things 10x harder. She is a 20-year-old girl who has so much potential!! The Staleys invited us to come over and have dinner again and to also watch the First Presidency’s Christmas devotional! It was awesome!!

And to end the night, we got the transfer report, and let me tell you, I’m so hyped!! I am getting sent to downtown Long Beach to be comps with Elder Capps!!! I love Elder Capps so much, and I served with him early in my mission in the Orange zone. Seriously, it was  a blessing seeing our names together, so I hope he is as excited as I am lol!  BTW, the goat Elder Smart is coming to this area for a “Finish” training Elder Robinson and take over the area! I’m so stoked about that!

This transfer and this week I learned so many lessons! Lots of patience and trusting in God’s plan. They work together pretty good tbh. I know that God placed me here in the Sunset Beach zone for a reason, and I have learned so much here, having to do things that were hard. Sometimes going with God’s will is super hard, and I’m still working on it! I know God’s will and plan are so much greater than our plan will ever be!Sometimes, his plan makes us do really hard things. I know all missionaries say things like I have but, it really is true! I can’t believe this is transfer number 12, and I only have 5 to go. Ahhh. Life is good, if you know what I mean!

Excited Elder Griffiths
