What’s up everyone? This week was actually super crazy. There was just a lot of stuff that happened! So, let’s get into it!
Monday: Another bad pday in the books. lol Overall, just a rough day with everything going on here in the mission. Stuff from home is what not made it a rough P-Day.
I was just ready for a new transfer and new things to start tbh. We had our closing zone devotional, which was pretty solid. Our car got ” Super Nova’d”. My zone leader Elder Connel and I were comps up in Norwalk and we would talk about the Little Trees air freshener all the time. I told him how me and the boys at the car wash hated the Super Nova scent. He then, as a prank, he bought 6 Super Novas and put them in our car and now our car stenches of Super Nova. It woulda been funny any other night than today.
I remember as I said my nightly prayer, counseling with the Lord, asking him to help me get through these challenges. I often time will ask Him to take my frustrations away, but I know that I need to go through these things for a reason. This week I have seen him take my hand and walk with me. It’s been amazing.
Tuesday: Last full day with Elder Saxton and, holy crap did this last transfer fly. Despite the bad pdays and hard times, it was one of, if not the fastest transfer of my mission.
We had some good old Narvarros for lunch and it was a hit per usual.
We had a lesson with Andrea and talked to her, trying to figure out her baptism details, but it got very confusing. So we told her to hold tight. We ended the night with dinner at the Staleys! They are awesome. Old couple but super sweet.
Wednesday: Transfer dayyyy! We dropped off E. Saxton at the mission office. Then, I was with Elder Reeder for the rest of day. He is also going to be training. I love seeing all my friends at the mission office tho. It’s always a good time. The rest was a pretty slow day ngl. Not much happened until we got to the mission home to pick up our new companions!
My new companion is Elder Hunsaker! Kinda funny though. He has currently been out on his mission for 14 months lol. He spent 3 months in Texas waiting for his visa to Peru. He spent time there and then came home for a short time before making it here to Anaheim! He is from Winachi Washington and is really nice.
Thursday: Lowkey interesting day. We didn’t have anything planned and found ourselves busy doing what seemed like nothing at all. haha. We picked him up some groceries, enough to survive til Pday, We did some studies and such for the rest of the time.
He is a Spanish speaker so we had language study for him to keep up his Spanish skills. He will most likely go to the Spanish areas. He his solid, the more I get to know him.
Friday: Honestly, such an amazing day. At the end of the day, I found myself so happy. I then remembered the feelings I had on Monday and I noticed how different I was feeling. I know the Lord was with me all week and I almost didn’t even realize it.
We had a missionary ornamentation meeting for the newbies in the Mission and it was good. Although I’m not really training anymore, I learned a lot of stuff from the meeting.
We blasted over to a lesson with Karl and we put him on date for October 12th!! It’s so crazy how we knocked on his door about 3 weeks ago and now he is preparing to be baptized. He is such a miracle. We then had our opening zone devotional and “Wow”, it was so much fun! We went to the Stake Presidents home and the ZLS and STLS did a fantastic job. It was all “Disney” themed so you know I loved it.
Saturday: Pretty solid day! We had a goofy Social Media meeting for the new missionaries and man, it was pretty lame. Finally, we were able to just work our area and it was amazing. We just knocked a bunch of doors and visited some people. It was pretty solid.
Sunday:
Karl pulled up to church! “Let’s go!” We had a good Sabbath for sure! Church was good and we were able to have a good afternoon of visits! We had dinner with the Hatfield family and it was a blast. I love the members here. We did some more visits and called it a night!
So sorry for the long email! I hope you all didn’t fall asleep reading that! This week as I mentioned in the email, I was just able to see the Lord strengthen me. It’s been a hard part of my mission. I still have a long way to go but, this week showed me the Lord will be with me as long as I let him.
The power of prayer is so real and I really wished I said my prayers more consistently before my mission. So my challenge to you is, if you aren’t saying at least one personal prayer every single day, you definitely should! You will see an impact in no time. Trust me!
Love you all so much for real. Til infinity!
