What’s going on friends and family? How is everybody doing? Please reach out and let me know. I wanna hear from yall!! This week was transfer week and let’s just say, “stuff happened”. haha.
Monday: Pday was sooo valid! We headed up to the Cerritos mall with the Tagalog elders and did some shopping. Shoutout to Fabletics and my shopping addiction for ruining me! Anyway, we did some fun games at the church and then chilled the rest of the day. Leadership calls are made Monday night. A call came in from president Galotera. My heart sank. I answered the phone and he starts by releasing me as a DL, and the proceeds to ask if I would be a Zone Leader… Well, you can’t really say no, so here I am lol.
Tuesday: In the morning we went over and I had my MLC training with a couple other missionaries who got called as well. Later, we had a dinner with the Jenks family and they are awesome! We had a good time and then went over to bishop Brassffields and said, goodbye. It was a tough goodbye haha he is a legend!
Wednesday: As usual we had zone council. I got BULLIED the whole time because of the word got out about of my becoming a ZL. I am so for real when I say how tired I was of the jokes. haha.”
I went to Orange to get my MRI looked at and they said it’s good! It is a little tendinitis but should go away soon!
We then had an absolutely fire youth activity!! Lowkey best hour of the mission haha! We went to the church and they went all in on Laser Tag! They turn off all the electrical stuff so it was pitch black. They also have strobe lights and fog machines. It was a blast!
We then had to run early to go give a blessing to a sister in the district after that.
Transfer news came out and I was shocked! I got sent to the same zone! I stay here in the Cypritos Zone but moved up to the Cerritos stake serving in the Norwalk ward! ( ghetto lol)
I am with my new companion, Elder Connel, who has been my ZL for 2 transfers now.
Thursday: Sad dayyy! The farewell tour began. We started with lunch with the tagalog goons. haha. Love those elders. We had to move some stuff around for transfers then went and said goodbye to some legends in the ward. Started with the Rodriguez family and they are awesome! We played this game in the living room for a while with the kids and then dipped sadly.
Then hit up one of my fav families on the mission, the Del Bellos. ( Not just saying that casue they are on my email list 😉 ) They are so funny and I can’t wait to visit and go to Disney Land with them when I get back after my mission. haha.
Friday: Transfers! We headed over to the mission office and did the inevitable exchange. . It was so sad to see Elder Evans head off back to West Anaheim with his new comp. I’m going to miss him so much. We had our MLC, and man I do not belong in there haha. I am just a child still. Anyway, we came back and unpacked and went to work! Nothing too crazy!
Saturday: Good day! I dId some planning for our upcoming zone devotional with our STLs. We helped some Elder go to the mission office and grab a car. We had a ward mission party and it was so wild. I thought my last ward was small and old…. This is a retirement home, I swear. It was funny though just chatting with some old people all night.
Sunday: Good Sunday! We had 7 am ward council. Not chill btw. And, then church. I was fighting demons trying to stay awake. I am so tired ahah.
We had a good weekly planning meeting on Sunday because we are so busy this week we legit couldn’t weekly plan haha. We did some visits and found a couple cool people!
So far I have liked the new area! I am still adjusting and getting to know everyone so I will give a better rundown on our friends next week!
Love you all so much and please remember to say your prayers everyday! I know how powerful a small prayer everyday can be!
Love you all
Elder Landon Griffiths
