Hey everyone!! This week was so bizzare I can barely remember what was going on so I am going to try my best! The title of this email is because the past couple weeks I have been asking to be moved out of my area because I had been there for so long but man… sometimes I wish I didn’t wish it. haha!
Monday: Pday was pretty good as usual! We played some indoor soccer and some basketball with some of the other missionaries and some cool members from the ward! Bro Velazquez was there and so was president Acosta so you already know it was a fun time! Called and talked to fam for the rest of the day so thats always really good.
Tuesday: We started off with a good day of studies and then I had my District leader meeting. Those are honestly pretty boring but this one was actually pretty good.
Wednesday: We had a good zone council to start the day and it was the last one before the transfer so that was a very bittersweet moment. We then went to a lesson with a man named Jared and here is a funny story.
So we are teaching this guy in his apt. and we are about half way though teaching about the restoration and we started to smell this nasty smell that was coming from the kitchen. Apparently homie forgot that he was cooking food when he answered the door and so he almost burnt down his whole house! The smell of smoke still hasn’t left me. We had a good lesson with Marco so that was fun. We also were able to go to the young men’s activity and we went to the golf range. Idk what was up with me but I was shanking the ball so hard. ha ha!
Thursday: Transfer report came out in the early morning and I got the news I was moving to a new area! I got sent to Cypress serving in the West Anaheim ward. It’s a small area so I am now on a bike and obviously with a new companion! My comps name is Elder Paget.
We spent the whole rest of the day visiting my favorite members telling them goodby. Let me tell you, IT WAS SO SAD!!! I don’t even know why, but man I was so sad leaving that area. I am going to miss that ward so much! THANK YOU ESPLANADE!!!!
Friday: Well, actual transfer day! Spent the morning at the Misson office grabbing my new companion and heading off to the new area. We spent about an hour or 2 unpacking. The second I walked into the new apt, my inner Mom came out. I have never felt more like Lisa Dawn in my life. I instantly started cleaning a bunch of stuff and reorganizing crap that has been here for who knows how long. Shout out to my Momma.
We went out and started visiting some of the ward members and it was pretty alright.
Saturday: The first full day in the area was pretty decent. The day went by so fast to be honest and I have no reason why. Maybe cause biking takes up so much travel time and I don’t realize it, but I am not sure. We visited members in the morning and it was so cool! We went to the Bowen’s home and they ask where I was from and I say American Fork Utah and they go, “So which Blackhursts do you know?” So, shout out to the Blackhurst family! I got yall’s Aunt and Uncle in the ward. haha! We just did a lot of visits and that summed up the day.
Sunday: Sunday was pretty good. The Ward is a lot different from my old ward. This ward is pretty old but hey, I can’t complain. Old people are nice. After Church we had a Book of Mormon read with a member in a care home and then had a District Leader expectations meeting with our ZLS and STLS. It was pretty solid. Had a dinner with the Gills that was good and ended with just more visits getting to know the members.
I have many mixed feelings about my new area but I’m so excited that I have the opportunity to serve the people here in Cypress/west Anaheim. Something I have been trying to think more about is how God’s plan is a PERFECT PLAN. Not just an average plan. It’s so amazing that I have grown a love for his plan.
Hope you all have a great week and I love and miss you all like crazyyyy!
