“Kneehow!” It’s a greeting in Chinese btw. This week was fun. Let’s get into it!!
Monday: Pday was pretty chill I guess. We’ve had a good time playing games at the church. We then went to the Santa Ana Zoo, and man, I felt horrible for those animals. My boy Colby knows what’s up. I don’t recommend Mid Zoo. Ha, ha!
Tuesday: Today was crazy! We started with a service project and we are still working on the chicken coop for that one lady! It sucks so bad. We then gave a blessing to a man in the Ward who was really sick. I have been studying a lot about blessings and I was able to say it and the spirit really took over so strong. I can’t even remember what I said. It was fire tho. We then had dinner that night with the Sloans. They are awesome. They love Disney. So, we chatted about Disney for a long time.
Wednesday: We had a zone council and it was super good. However, we got chastised a bit for our work ethic as a zone. But, trust me, we have been doing better now!
I was able to be on exchanges with Elder Harker. He is a fun elder and we had some good times. We got some free tacos and it was a great way to celebrate my 6 month mark!! Also, we celebrated that one lame holiday called Valentine’s Day or somthin…
Thursday: This was a “mid-day” but fun at the same time. We had a Red Cross service which SUCKSSSS!! It’s 4 hours of just sitting, doing nothing. The only nice thing is you get to hear some music. “Stay” by Kid Laroi and JB, has never sounded better.
We went to the Velazquez home for dinner, and man we got fed so well. The best food I have had on my mission has come from that home. I have been begging sister Velazquez, the goat, to teach me how to make salsa and she diddd! I now know how to make some feugo salsa so hit me up after the mish for some good stuff.
Friday: W day!! I went on exchanges with Elder Turpin and Elder Gunn! Man, being in a trio is so much fun. My guy, elder Haymore, left for South Africa so Elder Gunn is with the ZLs. We had a ton of fun tho! Elder Gunn was so tired he kept falling asleep. It was so funny. Elder Turpin and I get along like crazy, so it’s always fun. He is begging me to go to BYU with him and it’s so fun to talk about. He keeps trying to get me but idkkk y’all. lmk, what I should do?
Saturday: Today was fire. The Mandarin branch is in our stake and they had a Chinese New Year party, and we got to help! It was so so fun. I was in charge of the egg rolls and serving them up. I was so bad at talking to the Mandarin-speaking homies. This boy doesn’t speak or understand a lick of Chinese. It was a blast tho! Sunday: Church was awesome and Dede was able to make it again! It was so good to see her at Church again. She is really interested so it’s been so fun to see her progress. She is solid and big things are in the future for her! We had a long day of visits but it was chill! With only a couple of days left before transfers, I have been acting deaf in some of our contact meetings and making Elder McCord teach in all of them to help him improve his confidence. It was been super funny to watch. Don’t worry, he asked me to do it. haha!
Well, this was a crazy week for sure! This next week is transfers and I am super excited. I have been in this area for 6 months and I think I will be leaving, but you never know! It’s crazy how I am already 6 months down. It’s so cool!
I have tried to make Jesus Christ the focus of my life this week and it has been so great! I was able to get this great advice from my awesome friends on how it has blessed their lives on their mission. I have been able to do it myself and it changed my whole motivation!
I know Jesus Christ needs to be the foundation of everything. And, if He is, none else will fail.
3 Nephi 11:39.
By the way, my mission, president, President Galotera has told us “No more visits from friends and family from home.” Thxxk you to all who have reached out wanting to visit. It meant the world to me. I love you all so so much! Have a blessed week!
