I’m just kidding. I actually hopped off the plane at John Wayne Airport. I have been wanting to say something for a long time….”I AM HERE !” After we got our baggage, we drove straight to the mission home and had dinner with President Galotera and his wife. We had a group of 30 missionaries come into the mission and that’s a huge group! Pretty cool to be a part of it.
I met my trainer and my now companion Elder Hurst from Idaho Falls, Idaho! He has been serving for 8 months and I am learning lot from him already! I have been here only a couple days so I don’t have very many stories yet, but I know they are coming soon.
I am liking it here so far! Elder Hurst and I got “white washed” into our new area. So we both don’t know what’s going on yet. lol. Our ward is super welcoming and Sundays are definitely going to be a good day on the mission.
A funny story: My comp and I were walking to a members house for dinner in downtown Santa Ana and some guy came up to us and said, “This is a pretty scary area for you Mormon boys isn’t it?” That kinda shook me up a little but the man ended up walking us all the way to the member’s apartment building. He explained to us that he was baptized when he was 8 and is now inactive. It was nice to have him walk us to the apartment.
I spent most of this last week in the MTC so I guess I’ll talk about that a bit. Some of you know it was my birthday on Tuesday the fifth. I was honestly having a pretty bad day because I missed home so much. However, my district gave me a surprised birthday party and that cheered me up a bit.
At the MTC, every Tuesday night we have a night devotional with a general authority. This week it ended up being Gary E. Stevenson! That made my whole day! His spirit was so strong and it was a great way to send me to the field! I loved my district and I hope they are all killing it wherever they are. I miss them big time!
That’s all for this week! I love ya”ll and miss you lots!
P.S. By the way….Michael Jordan is from Santa Ana.
