Thank Goodness for P-day
The title might make it sound that this week was terrible but this week was pretty dope! I feel like not a whole lot of crazy stuff happened. Maybe that’s just because I’m trapped in a “Spiritual Prison”. The food here hasn’t gotten any better, by the way. Our district has finally figured out that the sack lunches are the move. Grab a sandwich with way too much bread, 2 canned drinks and 2 bags of chips. It gets the job done everyday. However, the snacks from the “fam” are still extremely clutch. So big time clutch to them.
This week we spent a lot of time in the gym. We have afternoon and night classes so we spend all morning playing pickleball and volleyball. My jump shot is still broken but in pickleball I haven’t lost my touch. Elder Hill and I beat Elder Jackson and Elder Bues. I’m still trying to figure out how to beat elder Hill in something cause this dude is a baller at everything. I wanna take him to the golf course and see what happens.
However, with all the time in the gym we came to realize that we don’t have the most physically sturdy district in the world. Elder Woodbrey sprained his wrist, Sister Payne sprained her ankle, and Elder Kenney broke his foot! (which is probably the best thing that’s happened to him because now we all get to push him around on his scooter…ha ha. However, everyone is doing better and we all hoped to be healthy for the field!
But….EVERYONE IS SICK! It’s terrible. I am sad to say it finally caught up to me and I have a mild cold so that sucks major. I hope I can be better by Friday! Which brings me to say I’m leaving the MTC this next week! Next time you hear from me I’ll be in Anaheim! I can’t wait. I’m so ready to get there and meet everyone. It’s going to be a blast. I will for sure miss a lot of people from my district but it’s going to be good to get to the field! 🙂
This last Tuesday, Elder Carlos Godoy, from the 70, came and spoke to us. It was incredible. He talked about his conversion story as a young boy and how he was able to be converted in Brazil by 2 sister missionaries. It was powerful. He was pretty funny too and that helped me pay better attention. He listed some key points and principles that all missionaries should know. The one that stuck out to me the most was “never give up”. He made me realize that when times are at their lowest just keep going. Even when you feel you need to take some of your work load off, just keep going. You never know the opportunities you will miss when you stop giving it your all!
This is all for this week! See y’all in Disney!
