Teaching Our Friends: We had a great week of teaching some of our friends and here is an update on them!
Brandy is just going through so many hard things right now. She wants to grow closer to God and be baptized but right now she is trying to figure out her life situation and everything. We are meeting as often as we can, but she is so busy rn. She did come to church which was so amazing! Please pray for Brandy!
Not sure if yall remember Brandon but he is back on the map. The prayers of the ward and of everyone came in clutch as he has accepted simple truths. He also came to church and is going to start coming consistently and he is saying his prayers and reading the scriptures. He is hesitant on meeting with us consistently, which is weird, but we have faith that his heart will be softened.
GUILLE IS THE GOAT!!! We have seen so many miracles with Guille and I don’t think I have talked enough about her. She has had so many baptism dates in the past but hasn’t been able to make it so far. Her church attendance has been shakey. We told her, ” “Guille, if you come to church 2 weeks in a row, you can be baptized as soon as possible after that.” She said she is ready to go all in. She came last week, AND SHE CAME THIS WEEK!!! So fire! She will be baptized this Saturday and I can not be more excited for her. Guille will be a story I will never forget. I will also never forget the lunch she prepared for us this week. It was the best Mole I have ever had.
Departing Testimonies: This week was our 2nd zone conference which is special because it’s when the departing missionaries give their departing testimonies. I have been nervous for this day for a long time now and it was lowkey terrifying. No one in the mission has seen my emotional side, aka my Kinghorn side, and the second I got up to share my testimony, it was straight water works. I was fighting for my life to get through that testimony. It didn’t help that I gave it with some of my favorite missionaries, Elder Midgley and Elder Mallorey. All of us Elders were bawling and the sisters were honestly fine. haha.
Sister Galotera got up for her closing remarks and said, “Wow! The Elders are cry babies!!!” It was pretty funny. Honestly just a great experience being able to be apart of this mission and to share my testimony with all of the people I’ve been able to serve with over the past 2 years. When the conference ended President Galotera came and gave me a big hug and I’ve never been hugged tighter. He looked me in the eyes with tears and just said, “Elder… I am so proud of you.” In that moment I felt the assurance of the Holy Ghost telling me that God was proud of me too. I broke down in tears again and gave him another hug. I truly have gained a great love and appreciation for President and sister Galotera.
This upcoming week is my last full week as being a full time missionary. Wild. I am grateful that there will be good things to look forward to, like he MLC, departing temple trip, and Guilles baptism. I am so grateful for my mission. I will expound more on that next week, for my final email home. I love you all and I can’t wait to see you again! If you’d like to be at the airport for my arrival, email me separately for the flight plans.
