We’re back with another email… let’s go!
Pday was actually pretty fire and much needed. We decided to go on a hike and it was actually really fun! If you knew me pre-mission I hated hiking but lowkey got converted out here. We had a great time hiking even though half our zone almost died at the very end, due to a steep hill! haha. For the first time ever, I wasn’t the one dying. haha! We then kicked it for the rest of the day tbh.
This week we got to do a lot of finding because we went through and had a “Drop Party.” That is when you drop pretty much everyone except the few that are really interested and progressing. However, we have seen so many miracles as the Lord helped us find some pretty dope people. We met this dude named Andrew who filled out a referral and he is pretty elect. He came to church this week and we are able to meet with him almost everyday because he is in a Sober Living Home and doesn’t work. So, you can imagine he is a bit special. That’s how we like em. Our friend Guille also came to church. which was amazing and she is hopefully getting baptized this Saturday! I say hopefully cause she is a bit flaky. haha!
On Saturday our stake had a fun activity that we got to help with! There is a temple being built in the neighboring Stake, Yorba Linda, which is super close to us! Our stake members did a “Trek to the Temple” where they all met at a church building and trekked 6.6 miles to the temple site. It was really cool. We weren’t able to trek with them but they wanted us to help with the lunch. They asked us to show up at 9:00 a.m., even tho the people weren’t gonna be there until 11:00. We got all set up in like 30 minutes and then we were able to build some goated member trust with some members. They wanted to play volleyball with us for a while! We got to help with the activity and it was the blast of a day tbh.
We had a combined District Council and we had a training on personal study and how important it is. There is a quote by Elder Holland that was shared at the training that has really stuck with me. I want to share it with yall, cause I think it applies to all of us in our everyday life even if you are not a missionary. “I frequently say to missionaries in the field, “You make or break your mission every morning of your life.” You tell me how those morning hours go from 6:30 a.m. until you are on the street in your mission. Whatever time it is; you tell me how those hours go, and I will tell you how your day will go, I will tell you how your month will go, I will tell you how your year will go and how your mission and your life will go.” Elder Holland
If you knew me before my mission you know how awful I was at waking up and being productive in the morning. Now I have a STRONG testimony of what Elder Holland said! Morning hours are the best hours and will change your life!
That’s all for this week but I love yall and hope you are all doing great!!
